Today we started filming and taking pictures of the school. We had to walk around the highschool area and the new library to film, Enrique and I. Rafael and Katie took pictures. I think the video will come out pretty decent, the footage is coming out smoothly.

Monday, May 18, 2009

Today I kept on working on my storyboard, and got it approved. Next class we will start filming and taking photos of the school. Also, Enrique said that he will do the intro and Earth zoom in and out for people to know where it is. That will be an awesome feature/effect for our video! Enrique sure knows to do stuff on whichever program he uses do to those things!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Today we started working on ideas, brainstorming what each person is going to do for the video. I chose the library and cafeteria facilities, and Katie and I will have to go to Ms. Norman's house to film her house for teacher's quarters. I think this project will come out awesome, and attract lots teachers into Carol Morgan.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Today we started discussing on our new project, a video to recruit new teachers into Carol Morgan School. We watched a movie that previous students had put together, and discussed what we could do with it. Its the baseline of our ideas, and we will center our video around that one. We have to refilm everything though, because buildings are different.

Friday, May 8, 2009

Katie finally finished her video! Celebration! Next class I will not be able to go to the field trip with the rest of the class, I have an AP Physics exam! Wish me luck! On Tuesday, or Wednesday, whenever our next class is, we will start something new, or brainstorm something new. I hope it is nothing difficult!

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Last class I was doing my AP Statistics exam. That's why I wasn't here. Today I will just catch up to whatever the guys have been doing. Katie is still taking a long time to finish her video! I have been helping her and saying Farsi things to her, I hope she doesn't mind. But the truth is, I have helped her with some questions she had, whatever minimal help it was, it was SOME help!

Friday, May 1, 2009

Friday at last! Today I took it very relaxing, because I was playing games and stuff. Katie is still taking forever to finish her video so we can't go on, or she will fall way behind! Hopefully Katie keeps on taking a long time so I can continue playing games and doing homework for other clases! Haha! This Sunday is my birthday, and I will enjoy it to the fullest!

Cycle 9

Today I did not do much, I finished my How To video yesterday, so today I get to chill until my fellow classmates. Katie is taking a long time so I will probably be reading and doing homework for another classes. Today is also my sister's birthday! I will call her later at night to wish her a happy birthday, she likes computers so I'll tell her what we did with the Wii-mote project!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Today I finished my How to Project video. I ended up adding other things to it so I had to export the movile file again. I sped up the video so it was reduced from 9 minutes to about 5 minutes. I also added techno-like music to the background for a better entertained audience, so they won't get bored watching my presentation.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Today I finished my How To video. I hope Ms. Norman likes them. I'll review my video and edit anything I must tomorrow, although I already exported it. Success on the video! ~ Tomorrow I will work on anything else I must, like keyboarding or works on another class, probably homework for another class.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Today I intensely worked on my How To video. I am almost done! I thought I was done, but there were some final touches and polishing I had to add. I had to add subtitles, just in case people cannot hear me, or don't understand a word I'm saying. The truth is, the video will be a good one, I hope people like it.

Monday, April 20, 2009

Today I was working on my "How to" project. I will need to create subtitiles and maybe do some voice overs for the video. I don't think they will be very efficient, so I might go with the subtitles, but first I must finish adding and editing the videos, because some need to be super-timed, or cut.

Friday, April 17, 2009

Today I worked on my video project, I think it is almost done. I need to add some videos demonstrating some things, and doing all the voice overs. The voice overs shouldn't be so difficult, and all the other editings shouldn't be so difficult either. The only problem is that putting the video together is time consuming.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Today I worked on my How To video project. It is coming out perfectly, I just need a few more videos of me drilling the hole into the pen, and testing the pen. I'll need to convert these videos and add them to my video. I also need to do all the voiceovers. I will do all I can tomorrow to finish the project. If I do not finish I hope Ms. Norman gives us some extra time.

After Spring Break

Today I started working on my How To video. It will come out pretty well, but I think I will need an extension for it, since we only have 2 more classes to complete it. I am missing some editing of the videos, and then a "voice over" over the fast motion pen creation video. Everything just has to be put in a sequence, and it will come out perfect, and even able to put on YouTube.

Quarter 4

Today I finished my car video, it is 30 seconds, perfect! It really takes a long time to adjust the car movements to the music, especially how I did it, every beat for the first few seconds of the video follow the movement of the cars! On Friday I might start working on my How To video, or have a relaxed Friday!

Monday, March 30, 2009

Today I continued working on my car video. It is near completion, I only need to add the rolling credits, and a bit more of effects into the video. I believe that my video matches perfectly to the music of the Teriyaki boys, especially the intro beat. I think I can finish my car video within one or two classes, and it will be definitely more than 30 seconds long.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Today I spent the day watching movies and working on my essay. I am finishing my essay right now, and will turn it in tomorrow. I am having a writer's block, but I will do my best on my essay. Next classes I will continue working on my car video projects, so I can have it finished for the Friday before Spring Break. After hopefully I have enough time to start and finish my How To video. It will be challenging to add in all the effects, voice overs, and proper editing for an excellent final product. I will do my best!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Today I worked on my essay. Tomorrow I will finish my essay, to have it complete and ready to turn into Ms. Norman on Friday. Today I also participated in the tech showcase, a lot of people were interested in our Wiimote Smartboard, especially the part where we said it was super cheap. Compared to last year, the showcase was a total success, maybe more than triple the amount of people actually showed up for the event, probably because it was in the new building and it made it more exciting.

Friday

Today I worked on my paper, and socialized basically. After I finish my paper I will work on my car video, its the closest one to finish before spring break. If I finish beforehand I will work on my "How to build a IR LED pen" video. I think the "How to" video will be easier than the car video, because matching video with music is very hard. I will try to finish everything as soon as I can.

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Today I worked on my paper to explain how our project could be introduced to the educational world, and the business world. Enrique's computer is still messed up, but I believe you have the videos converting or converted. That way we can finally work on our video projects, although even so i don't think we're behind compared to the rest of the PT2 students population. I believe in efficiency, the most of amount of work you can do in the least amount of time. So you have to balance the sweetspot between very good work and long time, and poor work in no time. Something in the middle is best when you have a deadline.

Monday, March 16, 2009

Today I should have started with my video project, but had a technical difficulty and could not get my video from Enrique. His computer got messed up, so hopefully we have the files by tomorrow. I will start putting my How to Video together, I hope it comes out decent. It will be awesome. I also hope the fast-forwarding technique and voice over will work. This project rocks, especially since I'm playing Spider Solitaire.. on the wall!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Today we started using the LED infrared pens. They are awesome. We played chess and solitare with the newly developed pens, we completed the Wii-mote smartboard project! We also filmed ourselves playing and using the pens to demonstrate how it worked. Next class we will probably continue playing with it a bit, and work on our how to projects on Adobe Premier.

March 10, 2009

Today I finished my first pen. Complete success. It was not very difficult for me since i had previous experience with circuits. It may be difficult for other people because they do not know a single thing about electricity or circuits, I'm in physics, I know some of the stuff. Tomorrow I will try to finish my second pen, and film all of the process.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

The fun begins, the pen assembly. Today we cleared out and prepared our markers to start the project. We filmed it with two camera angles, so we had two-way view of it. It will look super cool on the Adobe Premier Project. I also created my own circuit with the battery and the LED light to test the light and circuit making, I know how I will do it, now I only have to film and do it. I won't be able to until next week, because of CAISSA. (I am therefore exempted from two blogs!)

Monday, March 2, 2009

Today we started putting the pen materials together. We are doing two projects at once, the IR Pen Wii-mote Whiteboard, and a How to Build the IR Pen via film on Adobe Premier. I think the building of the pen will be rather difficult, but we will definitely make it work. The filming of making the pen should be done, and then fast-forwarded in Adobe Premier, we simply record a sound over it for time saving. Today I will get my batteries, and I'm excited for the building tomorrow!

March 1, 2009

I just came back from a trip, it was very fun. During the trip i took various photos, and of course, filmed stupid, but fun stuff we did. I learned a few techniques for filiming. You HAVE to keep the platform where the camera is standing still. The image quality if much better when it is. You also get dizzy if the camera is held by hand. Whenever you have a chance to put your camera on a tripod or table, you should do it. I will definitely use the tripod for filming my pen-making process.

February 25, 2009

I am layed on my bed watching YouTube. Some of these videos have given me some ideas for what I could do for Adobe Premier. I will try to recreate these things for cooler effects, such as video transitions for images or video clips to go smoother. Also, for the Wii-mote project, I will get the necessary materials (markers and double A batteries). I am very excited about the Wii-mote smart board project, it will rock.

February 24, 2009

Today we talked about the project for the Wii-mote projects, sounds very exciting. All my friends will be jealous. This is a very cool project. This weekend I will go buy two pens and batteries so we can start building. From now on I will probably use those things a lot, using my Wii-motes from home. This project sounds kind of simple, but I hope it works out OK. It is a bit hard to get all the materials, but once you have them all I hope the result is amazing, it will be. Now I will continue working on my Premier project, while thinking about the pen building.

February 18, 2009

Today I continued working on my project, and had a little social time with Katie, and you, Ms. Norman. I can actually say that because only you will read this. So, next class I'll try to add more effects and "cool stuff" into my video, and hopefully it'll match the music perfectly. It is a very difficult job to do, especially the editing of effects to make the video match to the music. So, that's what I'll do next class, and anything else we need to do.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

February 17, 2009

Today I continued working on my Adobe Premier Pro project. I learned a few things about editing film start and end points, pretty useful without having to alter the original source. This will help me duplicating sequences also, easier to duplicate the whole nested files, than a group of files one by one. Next class I will continue working on the project, hopefully get lots done so I can have something to show.

February 14, 2009

Today I went to the movies and saw Yes Man, it was a good movie. It gave me some ideas about what I can do with Adobe Premiere Pro. Learn from the pros. The best way to come up with ideas is to be around people with ideas. Next class I will try some new stuff with Adobe Premiere, hopefully they come out as I would like them to come out, and get a decent project result.

February 10, 2009

Today I REALLY finished the Illustrator project, finished lesson 13, which worked with symbols. I learned a useful tool there, the symbol spray painter, which allowed you to paint with symbols basically. Next class we will start using Adobe Premier, which I think works with movies. I want to learn more about that. Maybe we can edit movies easier, we can be famous on YouTube. That would be fun. Get a million view. That's a lot. So anyways, I will not play games next class, and I will work around Premier to get used to it, and do projects with it.

Feb 6, 2009

Today I finished the Illustrator projects. The tutorials teached how to use lots of tools, explained thoroughly, but you have to follow instructions carefully. The projects were rather simple, but complicated tools and effects needed to be used to finish them. The projects seem simple at the end, but now that I know how to do them, I can appreciate them more. It looks easy to do, but it really requires lots of time and dedication to finish them. Next class I will work on the next projects, and research more on the Wii-mote project.

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

February 3, 2009

Today I was working with my Illustrator projects. There were some minor inconveniences with the french fries and daisy projects, but we moved on to the pencil, and later the snowboard. Next class I will continue working on these projects, and finish soon hopefully. These Illustrator projects make you pay attention closely, otherwise you will get lost and have to read back to see what step you missed. Next class I will focuse on finishing.

Blog 2

I am very excited about the project. If we actually pull this off it will be amazing. After this we could expand into other projects, create cooler stuff. These projects always keep me interested on the class, hope we can do more of these. Softwares don't interest me as much anymore. Projects projects projects!

Blog 1

What I want to learn in PT2 is new software manipulation, and to play around with hardware, like the Wiimote project. I think projects like that are very cool, and helps us in the future. If we can control technology that way we can create things in the future, or create simple contraptions that would facilitate things for us, or affordable for us. Learning about software also helps us in daily life, but I believe that with projects we would have an advantage. Its easier to get a job if you're a specialist in projects like the Wiimote one, than to be a specialist in a software, because a lot of people already know how to use the program. Helpful software would be Adobe's where you could get a job not by knowing how to use it, but by what you create with it, you could actually sell your creations in Photoshop, or Illustrator, among other Adobe Programs. I would like to learn to create cool stuff with the programs, or to start projects that would build a base for future more complicated projects.
